Sleep apnea treatment costs truck drivers big bucks
Truckers question screeening criteria, CPAP effectiveness, survey finds
A new sleep apnea white paper issued by the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) and based on a survey of over 800 truck drivers finds that the cost of sleep apnea treatments is hitting them hard in the wallet, with out-of-pocket expenses for treatment averaging $1,220 or some 1.5 weeks of median drive pay.

Truck Tonnage Index fell 2.1% in April, ATA reports
Inventory correction will 'keep lid on' truck freight in near term
American Trucking Assns.’ advanced seasonally adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index decreased 2.1% in April, following a 4.4% drop during March. In April, the index equaled 134.8 (2000=100), down from 137.6 in March. The all-time high was 144 in February.
